About us

Sept. 1, 2021 – present

Our story

The Colorado Softball Academy Foundation was set up with one main goal in mind – to provide opportunities for girls in sports and coach the WHOLE athlete – Mentally, Physically & Emotionally.

Opportunities for girls

Our focus

Female-athletes of all ages deserve an equitable opportunity to play softball, and sports in general at all ages. Whether it’s at the grassroots recreational level, club softball, collegiate level, professional level, private training, or simply the opportunity to be part of a positive and constructive community of female-athletes. Our girls DESERVE the opportunity!

#PROTECTHERDREAM

Whether it’s at the grassroots recreational level, or the professional level, CSAF is working to provide and protect the dream for female-athletes of ALL ages!

“IT’S NOT ABOUT US…

“It is not about us, it is about cultivating the game that gave so much to us. It’s about guaranteeing that kids everywhere can learn, grow, bond and have fun” with every ball thrown, every diving catch, and every game won. {Peyton Manning, HOF}

“In the U.S., sport is widely recognized as a tool of child development and health promotion.” Benefits include but are not limited to physical health, mental health, emotional health, social health, academic performance, high levels of self-confidence and leadership development. In fact, a survey of 400 female corporate executives found 94% played a sport and that 61% say sports contributed to their career success.

Our history

It’s not about us

The Colorado Softball Academy Foundation, Inc. is a Colorado established 501c3 non-profit organization. The Foundation was officially incorporated on September 1, 2021.

While CSAF was incorporated Sept. 1, the vision of this organization began in the fall of 2019 through a series of events as CSAF Founder and President, Ashlie Rowley began coaching again. As she got back into the game, this time through the eyes of a mom, the view was different. Every young lady she took on struggled with confidence. “Kids today don’t have the tools necessary to deal with the emotions, pressures and expectations placed upon them. They are forced to grow up faster than they are ready for, resulting in an overall ‘I’m not good enough’ mentality and a feeling of failure on a daily basis.”

During the summer of 2021 Ashlie was invited to provide a catching clinic at a local high school. When she arrived to the school, she was appalled when she saw the quality of the softball facility versus that of the baseball stadium. There stood a beautiful baseball stadium – light, stadium bleachers, press box, scoreboard etc. The softball was a patch of dirt with a chain link fence just large enough to serve as a back stop. Right field went up hill, while center and left field were cut in half by the left field fence of the baseball stadium. OUR GIRLS DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS.

Our girls, young and old, deserve equitable opportunities. Opportunities to play, to train, to be happy and healthy. They deserve opportunities despite their socioeconomic status and any inherent limitations they face. This is where it all began….
